What is ECI's Recover product?
Recover is ECI's pre-formulated petroleum recovery product. It is a liquid, completely refinable blend of chemicals, specifically formulated to solubilize the solids that build up over time on the bottom of petroleum storage tanks (bottom sludge).
Through this process, the paraffins, asphaltenes, and coagulated oils trapped within bottom sludge are liquified and recovered.
How does Recover work?
Recover liquifies the paraffin, asphaltene, and coagulated oils trapped within bottom sludge. The entire process of recovering petroleum from bottom sludge takes only 2-3 weeks, with minimal labor. The recovered petroleum may then be refined, without prior separation of Recover.
In the process, the tank's capacity is also restored.
Recover economics
- In a typical storage tank, this ranges from 2,000 to 20,000 barrels of product recoverable from bottom sludge
- Process is passive - only requires some testing and periodic mixing.
- Entire process only takes 2-3 weeks, depending on the amount and consistency of the bottom sludge
- The market value of the recovered petroleum far exceeds the cost of Recover
- Recover does not affect the petroleum's chemistry
- Recovered petroleum can be refined immediately - Recover does not need to be separated before refining
- Restores the tank's storage capacity
